Granja Las Animas is a beautiful horse ranch located 10 minutes from San Miguel de Allende Mexico in the scenic Rio Laja River Basin. Owner, Lucinda Johnson, moved to San Miguel de Allende in 1999 from Northern California. The ranch features a full-sized dressage arena, a 20-meter walled, round-pen for training young horses and boarding facilities for 15 horses. Miles of pleasant, open trails surround the ranch.
Granja Las Animas is known for breeding fine APSL Lusitanos and Purebred Arabians with a focus on producing trainable, friendly, people-oriented mounts suitable for all disciplines. Two fine stallions, Imperador, a buckskin, 16 hand, Lusitano stallion with unique foundation bloodlines, and
El Mariachi, a 15 hand, dappled grey Arabian stallion from the Om El Arab stud farm in Santa Ynez, California with impeccable bloodlines, are currently standing at stud.
Lucinda offers equitation classes which emphasize basic dressage skills and safe, enjoyable trail riding for riders of all ages. Inquire about our boarding services.
Lucinda is also committed to rescuing abandoned and abused horses from the surrounding Mexican countryside, and, with gentle care and training, turns them into sound riding horses.
